Reception volunteers should have a social and flexible personality, good communication skills in English and intermediate Spanish (required!!), and be able to take initiative. Volunteers get a free shared room (with 1 other female volunteer), free food and internet and cheap drinks plus a share of tips. Volunteers work 5 hours per day, 6 days per week (30 hours) with one full day off. Duties include opening and closing the bar/restaurant area, doing bills and inventory, checking guests in and out, taking reservations via phone and email, and socializing with guests in the evening. 1 month minimum time commitment is required.

We require that all potential volunteers come up to Earth Lodge to see the place, meet the existing volunteers and staff and decide if it is right for them. Please get in touch if you are interested!!

Dan is back singing the sweet sounds of reggae and acoustic rock. Rain or shine, the show will go on, so don't miss out on a great day. Music and our famoso BBQ start around 1pm. Join us for a great day in the hills with delicious BBQ, Earth Lodge guacamole (yes, it's avocado season!!), cold beers and the best view in Guatemala. Music and food start around 1pm. Thanksgiving Dinner, Thursday Nov. 22nd, 6pm

125Q per person, ALL YOU CAN EAT!
Roasted Turkey or Stuffed Peppers for vegetarians, Mashed Potatoes with home made gravy, Italian bread Stuffing, Sauteed veggies in butter, Green salad with Blackberry Vinagrette, plus Home made Pumpkin and Apple Pies with real whipped cream for dessert.
Rides will be leaving Antigua at 3pm, 4pm and 5pm with returns after dinner. Transportation is 15Q per person each way. Happy hour (15Q cocktails) from 3pm-dinner time. A pub quiz with great prizes will be held after dinner, with all proceeds benefitting the El Hato School.

We are currently looking for one or two reception volunteers to start by the first week of December at the latest. Duties include opening and closing the bar/restaurant area, doing bills and inventory, checking guests in and out, taking reservations via phone and email, and socializing with guests in the evening.
We require that all potential volunteers come up to Earth Lodge to see the place, meet the existing volunteers and staff and decide if it is right for them. Couples are welcome as long as they can work individually. (We also are looking for carpentry volunteers which may be a good fit for some couples, meaning one person works reception and one person does carpentry work) Please get in touch if you are interested!!

Carpenters Always Needed!!

If you are traveling through Guatemala, and are looking for a volunteer job opportunity, and have carpentry experience, Earth Lodge needs you! Free food, room, cheap drinks plus possible pay depending on experience and time commitment. Carpenter volunteers MUST have actual experience working as a carpenter. Various projects include building tables/chairs and misc. furniture, doing repairs at the lodge and possibly helping to build a new tree house (from November 2012 onwards). Live Music with Sharif, Sunday, August 5th
