Sunday October 25th was our first live music BBQ party at Earth Lodge and it was a rousing success!! Over 80 people came up for the day to enjoy the sounds of Antigua band, La Raiz, and to sample the tasty BBQ. We will be continuing to have live music parties every few Sundays so stay tuned for the next announcement and don't miss out on the next party!!

We are looking for a cook to start soon!! Earth Lodge is famous for its food and large family style dinners so we are looking for someone with restaurant experience to help us continue with our good reputation. This person must be able to speak English and some Spanish, must be flexible, hard working and self starting, and must have at least 2 months availability. This position is paid from $100-$200 a month depending on experience and working hours.
Free private room, free food and internet and cheap drinks. We are also looking for reception volunteers so couples are welcome if one person can cook and the other does reception work.
Please contact us if you are interested, we always want to meet possible staff and have them see the lodge and what we are about.

We are currently looking for one or two reception volunteers to start in November. Reception volunteers should have a social and flexible personality, good communication skills in English and some Spanish, and be able to take initiative. Volunteers get a free private room, free food and internet and cheap drinks. Duties include opening and closing the bar/restaurant area, doing bills and inventory, checking guests in and out, taking reservations via phone and email, and socializing with guests in the evening.
We require that all potential volunteers come up to Earth Lodge to see the place, meet the existing volunteers and staff and decide if it is right for them.

We have just completed a new roof structure in front of our existing dining room building. Now we have lots more seating, an outdoor bar, and a sheltered place to practice your ping-pong skills! To celebrate this construction milestone, we will now be having BBQ parties every Sunday afternoon. We are proud to announce that Taste The Nature, the long-awaited Earth Lodge Cookbook is now available to download from our website as an eBook. It has (just) over 40 recipes including signature dishes such as our world famous Moussaka, Veggie Burgers, Beer Bread, Hot Sauce and Banana Bread. Also included are some more recent additions courtesy of our new chef Nathalie.

Here at Earth Lodge we pride ourselves on great-tasting home cooked vegetarian food. Over the years, dishes such as our world famous moussaka, enchiladas, beer bread and banana bread have become hugely popular with guests. But despite many conversations over the dinner table we have never had time to compile all of our recipes into a cookbook.

Now with the help of our new chef Nathalie the first Earth Lodge Cookbook is nearing completion. Those of you looking to recreate our signature dishes in your own home will soon be able to buy the book from the lodge or download an electronic version from the website.

We're still working out pricing but they should be in the region of Q100 each, with a portion of the proceeds going to the El Hato School. Stay tuned for further updates - we'll be posting progress right here on the blog...

We are pleased to announce the launch of our new and improved website which has more information, better organisation and a spanking new gallery.
