TEMAZCAL SAUNA

Temazcal translates as “house of heat”. A Mayan Temazcal is an igloo shaped sweat lodge made of volcanic rock, mud and cement. In the ancient Maya world, the Temazcal was used as part of a curative ceremony to purify the body after exertion or for healing the sick and improving health. The Temazcal is wood-heated, and water is poured over heated volcanic stones to produce steam.

Our Temazcal is available for guests and day visitors to use. To book a session please contact reception at least 1 HOUR IN ADVANCE.

About Your Temazcal Session:

• Sessions are 60 minutes
• Towels, aromatic plants, and a bottle of water included
• Changing rooms, showers, & earth friendly artisanal shower products provided
